Trademark

Schroder Fidlow, PLC represents clients in all phases of trademark, from selection and initial registration to maintaining, defending, and enforcing trademark rights.

Trademarks are the brand names and company names that identify the sources of goods or services. Trademark law grew out of a need to protect the public from less honorable merchants who learned to put someone else’s well-known brand name on inferior knock-off products as a way to increase profit. Trademark law requires the trademark owner to control the quality of products sold under their brand name. This enables McDonald's to franchise their restaurants and make sure all their hamburgers taste the same.
