ABOUT JOAN
Joan’s practice areas include entertainment, arts, and intellectual property law. Prior to private practice, Joan was law clerk to Virginia’s Former Chief Justice, Harry L. Carrico. Joan is an experienced mediator and has mediated numerous cases including domestic and business matters. Joan is a founding member of the James River Writers Association and a columnist for Urge Magazine. Joan just finished co-authoring her first novel, Feng Shui Love. Joan served on the VBA’s Lawyers for the Arts Committee. It was this pro-bono service that inspired her to develop the “Coffee with an Art Lawyer” program which allows artists of every genre to consult with Joan on an individual basis for 30 minutes free of charge. Joan’s clients include authors, musicians, actors, actresses, inventors, fashion designers, models, photographers, event coordinators, visual artists, jewelry designers, and specialty boutiques.
